"We do everything from helping our retailers put out the products and setting up displays to organizing and participating in promotions."
One of the factors she's quick to cite is their ability as problem solvers. "We're troubleshooters," she explained. "When a retailer or vendor has any issues, we're quick to resolve them on their behalf, including re-orders, delayed shipments, damages or credits."
"As associates, we do a lot people aren't aware of," she summarized. "Many of our retailers can't afford to take the time away from their business to travel to the major trade shows, so they rely on us to keep them informed on industry trends and new product introductions," she said.
Peggy's associates keep a good pulse on trends in the industries. "We're knowledgeable because of our information gained through exhibiting at trade shows, watching the trends in the retail stores, reading the trade journals and shopping the markets.

For instance, the explosion of the candle category in the industry. Candles at one time were primarily purchased as a gift, now consumers are purchasing candles for themselves because of the ambience and fragrance they create in their own homes.
She sees the same thing happening with smaller furniture pieces, lighting and other gift items. "Gift shops are now focusing on these products more than they did in the past. Lighting, bathroom and kitchen accessories, home office and textiles are becoming more popular in these stores. One product category's success leaps to another," Peggy summarized.
Service is the source of Peggy Lichty and Associates' success.
