RetailSpeaks Continues to Develop

In 2007 RetailSpeaks, an online gift community went into existence; according to Cinda Baxter, founder of RetailSpeaks, the online network is already entering into its next stage of development. As first reported by
Giftware News Eweekly August 23 edition RetailSpeaks was created as a support system for established, independent storefronts in the gift and stationery arena. The online support network offers a password-protected environment with the added benefit of territory protection.

The new additions to the site include a service for new retailers. As Baxter noted when applications began coming in for the service, many retailers hadn't yet reached their third anniversary. "It's obvious there's a need for support there too," explained Baxter. "As ironic as it is for me to say this as a brick and mortar retailer, online merchants would also benefit from collaboration with their peers."

While continuing to honor promises made to current members, RetailSpeaks has expanded into two additional forums, thus supporting retailers from all three camps: Bricks I, for storefront operations with at least three years' experience; Bricks II, for storefront operations with less than three years' experience; and Clicks, for retailers whose presence is entirely online. The three forum groups will operate separately, with the benefits of password protection and privacy. Bricks I and II members will also be granted territory protection.
